I primarily use Wix to build my sites, which means you get a great-looking website that’s easy for you to update later on, without needing a degree in coding.

A word about website platforms

Most professional web designers tend to specialise in a favourite ‘platform’. By platform we just mean a system for creating and maintaining websites. This is borne out of pragmatism, since it’s just not possible to be an expert in the myriad of different platforms that are out there now. There is no one ‘best platform’. The best platform is the one that works for you, or perhaps the one that your chosen web designer is most proficient in.

Before the advent of today’s website platforms you needed to understand how to use HTML, CSS, FTP and all sorts of other obscure acronyms and coding languages. I’m old enough to have built my first websites ‘in code’ back in the early 2000’s, which gives me an understanding about the underlying nature of how websites work under the covers.

Apart from building sites in native html I’ve worked on the following platforms; Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, Google, GoDaddy (and probably others I’ve forgotten about) but 90% of the website work I do now is on the Wix platform. I’ve worked in-depth on Wix for ever 10 years now and have attained the Partner status of ‘Legend'!
