Domain / Email Hosting

I can host your domain and email and set it up so everything just works, without any stress and confusion.

Sorting out domains and email can feel like a bit of a minefield. I’ll take the stress out of it by setting things up properly for you — whether that’s registering a domain, connecting it to your website, or setting up professional email addresses that look the part. Once it’s done, you’ll have peace of mind that everything is running smoothly in the background.

What is a domain?

If you want to have a website you have to register a domain name. A domain name is a friendly name for a unique resource that exists on the internet. Once you have a domain name it opens the door to having a website, e.g. www.yourdomainname.co.uk or a ‘professional’ email address, e.g. hello@yourdomainname.co.uk.

When you register a domain name you’re doing so for a set period, usually a year (though it can be longer), so they have to be renewed. There is a renewal fee, but registering a domain is usually the least expensive part of getting a website. You’re actually paying for a company to ‘host’ your domain name.

There are lots of the big internet service providers out there (GoDaddy, 123-reg, Names, Fasthosts, IONOS etc) who will offer very cheap domain name registration/hosting up front, but beware their ongoing recurring fees. You also need to take into consideration ease of support and how many organisations you want to deal with for your website, domain and email. Scoopsweb offers a one-stop shop for all these services.

A word about email

Scoopsweb can offer simple, secure, IMAP mailbox (email) hosting for your domain, with no storage limits, usually much cheaper than the large internet service providers. I can also design and implement a professional email signature for you too. Get in touch to learn more.
